Avocent Launches Line of Professional A/V Products

LAS VEGAS, NV June 8, 2005 — Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ: AVCT) today announced its Emerge media management solutions line of professional A/V products. The line consists of the WMS1000 wireless media streamer, the MS1000P Cat5 point-to-point video extender and the MS1000MP Cat5 point-to-multipoint video extender. The LongView Wireless extension products and the AMX A/V switching and broadcasting products also will be included in the A/V product suite. All will be introduced at booth #7625 at the InfoComm show, June 8-10 in Las Vegas.

“Our KVM and wireless capabilities make the move to professional A/V products a natural progression for Avocent,” said Matt Nelson, director of strategic business, Avocent Wireless Technology.

The Avocent Emerge WMS1000 wireless media streamer broadcasts high quality, full motion streaming video from virtually any source to multiple display devices up to 1,000 feet without wires. Because of its wireless video graphics and audio design, Emerge WMS1000 makes installations simpler and more cost-effective. The Emerge WMS1000 is a pure and simple hardware solution that can be deployed in either a point-to-point (extension) or point-to-multipoint (broadcast) configuration. It supports multiple input/output formats including Component, S-Video, Composite Video, VGA computer video, RS-232 control, and stereo audio.

The Avocent MS1000P Cat5 is a point-to point video extension and the MS1000MP Cat5 is a point-to-multipoint video extension; both are WXGA compatible and extend VGA up to 500 feet. The products are rack-mountable and easily installed. The MS1000P Cat5 and the MS1000MP Cat5 support multiple input/output formats, automatic input/output detection and RS232.

The Emerge WMS1000 wireless media streamer, the MS1000P Cat5 point-to-point video extender, and the MS1000MP Cat5 point-to-multipoint video extender will be available from Avocent in Q3 2005. More details are available online at http://www.av.avocent.com
