AVAD Teams with Gefen to Provide Computer and Electronic Add-On Solutions to Dealers and Installers Nationwide

Ft. Lauderdale, FL — June 10, 2005 — Good news for all AVAD installers of custom electronic home entertainment systems – they now have an even wider range of computer and electronic add-on solutions at their fingertips. AVAD, LLC, the preeminent American distributor of complete home entertainment and lifestyle convenience systems, has just signed an agreement to begin national distribution of Gefen products. Gefen is a leading manufacturer of consumer electronics and high definition audio/video connectivity solutions with multi-platform extension, switching, distribution and conversion capabilities. Its popular ex-tend-it line includes digital switchers, extenders, distribution amplifiers, adapters and various cables. This innovative add-on hardware provides the integral link between various, sometimes disparate audio and video components, allowing the user to maximize AV system capability by going beyond its original capabilities.

The new Gefen brand will further add to the gathering of premium brands that AVAD dealers are offering their clients, along with their comprehensive training and extensive support and service programs. “It’s a great pleasure to welcome Gefen into our AVAD family,” said Joe Piccirilli, managing director of AVAD, LLC. “Their wide range of home theater and audio video integration components will definitely increase the variety of product solutions that our custom installers can offer their clients. Add to that Gefen’s great reputation in the industry and AVAD’s extensive reach in the custom installation market, and we have ourselves the making of a perfect distribution partnership.”

For Gefen, this new partnership will open up new markets for its many products. “But it’s a lot more than adding distribution channels,” said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO of the company that bears his name. He added: “AVAD is well known for its support system, and its product training is second to none in the business. We expect this new distribution partnership will enhance our local market reach, improve our regional market management and enable us to project a more consistent digital video support system across the United States.”
