AVAD Prize Patrol Gives Second IBS Winner a Home Theater Makeover

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL — May 6, 2005 — After visiting the 2005 International Builders’ Show, Jason Short of Touchstone Homes, LLC in Lakewood, Colorado, happily discovered that you can walk away from AVAD’s show booth with a lot more than brochures and business cards. Jason was selected as one of two grand prize winners at the popular industry event, and received a complete home theater package courtesy of AVAD. The theater system includes a 42″ Samsung Plasma Display, a Marantz Audio Video Receiver and DVD Player, a Polk Audio speaker system, Panamax power protection, and more–altogether, a total home theater makeover.

AVAD LLC, America’s leading provider of complete home technology solutions, once again impressed IBS attendees in Orlando, Florida this spring, illustrating both the benefits of its extensive service package and the recent enhancement of its Dealer to Builder (D2B) Program. Since its inception in 2004, Electronic Systems Contractors (ESCs) across the United States have been filling program rosters, and AVAD expects the program to double in size in 2005.

“The International Builder’s Show is an ideal setting to promote our D2B program,” said Joe Piccirilli, managing director of AVAD. “D2B gives builders a way to establish new and highly repeatable profit streams in a way that complements their current business practices. It’s the simplest and most viable plan to differentiate service in the competitive building market. Our all-inclusive home theater prize packages are an example of the in-demand, top-shelf systems that builders can recommend in their customers’ new homes. D2B has seen much progress over 2004, and we’re eager to make new strides throughout 2005.”

As in last year’s IBS event, AVAD offered a number of prizes to show its appreciation to visitors who stopped by the AVAD booth. In addition to the Samsung/Marantz system awarded to Jason Short, AVAD gave away a Fujitsu/Bose grand prize system to another lucky dealer.

Short is completely delighted with his grand prize, and commented, “Travis Deatherage, our AVAD D2B ESC, did a great job putting it all together for me. Incidentally, Travis was the one who previously wired my whole-house. I guess you can say we have a close working relationship!”

Jason’s company, Touchstone Homes, LLC, specializes in upscale single family homes in the metro Denver area typically ranging from $800,000 to $1,200,000.

Travis Deatherage, an AVAD D2B Electronic Systems Contractor from Powder Networks in Lakewood, is AVAD’s local “D2B” custom installer. An experienced and ESC-certified AVAD dealer, Travis will help Jason with the installation of the home theater system.

Chalk up Jason’s win as a case of beginner’s luck, as it was his first visit to an AVAD booth. “My visit with AVAD at IBS was very educational,` Jason said. “Winning the home theater system on top of everything was totally unexpected and an incredible bonus. Touchstones Homes has worked with Powder Networks in many of our projects so we are well acquainted with the professionalism that an AVAD ESC possesses. I certainly expect to continue working closely with them and other AVAD ESCs in the future.”
