AVAD Partners with SAMSUNG to Distribute its Award-Winning Line of Consumer Electronics

Supply Chain Value-Added Distributor to Provide Greater Market Penetration and Improved Dealer Services for SAMSUNG Electronics

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL — March 29, 2004 — AVAD LLC, America’s preeminent custom home technology distributor, announced a partnership with SAMSUNG, the world’s fastest-growing brand, to distribute its highly-acclaimed and award-winning lines of home entertainment products. AVAD will begin distributing SAMSUNG’s leading technology in the Visual Display category before the end of first quarter, 2004. The partnership enhances distribution of Samsung’s products within the custom installation market, and strengthens AVAD’s continuing expansion efforts to reflect the company’s focus on meeting its dealers’ needs.

AVAD will act as more than SAMSUNG’s distributor, however. Acting as a comprehensive supply chain partner, AVAD will create a nationally consistent marketing plan that focuses efforts locally to build brand presence among Electronic System Contractors. In addition, AVAD will provide the brand’s dealers with product training, complete technical support, and fast and easy inventory access for more responsive customer service, improved turns, and higher profits. AVAD will open SAMSUNG’s distribution with the brand’s premium Flat Panel Plasma and LCD TVs, Micro Display DLP and Integrated Digital Flat Screen TVs.

“We’re very excited to have a trusted name like SAMSUNG behind our efforts to provide Electronic Systems Contractors nationwide with real solutions to expanding the automated home industry,” said Joe Piccirilli, managing director of AVAD. “Clearly, manufacturers realize the value-added benefits AVAD provides. This partnership adds to SAMSUNG’s leading brand position and growth efforts through the definitive market penetration and comprehensive dealer services that are AVAD’s signature. For our dealers, SAMSUNG provides superior products that guarantee customers the exciting home theater experience they aspire.”

Flat Panel Leadership
Stunning examples of TV display technology headline SAMSUNG’s product portfolio. The new 57″ TFT-LCD HD-TV prototype, revealed for the first time at CES 2004, is the largest possible size for a 5th Generation LCD fabrication. The 57″ TFT-LCD prototype joins other advanced models, such as SAMSUNG’s 70″ PDP TV, in dramatizing the company’s flat screen leadership.

SAMSUNG now offers the broadest range of TFT-LCD TVs from 15″ to 57″ models. All feature SAMSUNG’s patented Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe) technology to ensure the greatest clarity in high definition (HD) broadcast signals. To accompany its new line of HDTVs, SAMSUNG is also introducing the Blu-ray Disc Recorder (BD-R1000), a blue laser-based optical disc device that features both ATSC digital and NTSC analog recording and playback features.

SAMSUNG is staying true to its message of delivering innovation in the form of high value, high performance and high design products to the market.
