Professional Solution for Correcting Bass Response Problems in Home Theaters

Audyssey Laboratories announces the Audyssey Sub Equalizer, the latest in a series of professional room calibration tools in the company’s product lineup. The Sub Equalizer uses the award-winning MultEQ XT technology to correct the most difficult problem in home theater sound: low frequency distortion caused by room acoustics.

The Sub Equalizer solves acoustical problems in both frequency and time domains. By utilizing MultEQ XT, it measures the entire listening area in the time domain and uses thousands of correction points to create a high-resolution equalization solution. The result provides accurate, deep and seamless bass for every listener. Musical balance is restored and the low frequencies are correctly integrated with the content from the satellite speakers.

The Sub Equalizer also addresses the long-standing problem of integrating two subwoofers in home theaters. It automatically sets the level and delay for each subwoofer and then creates a room correction solution incorporating both subwoofers.

“Our intention is to enable deep and accurate bass in any listening environment for every listener,” says Michael Solomon, Chief Executive Officer of Audyssey. “This is part of our mission: to extend MultEQ and solve the most challenging sound reproduction problems for audio enthusiasts.”

The Sub Equalizer is available from custom installers who use MultEQ Pro to professionally calibrate rooms and deliver customized results. Installers can be found on the Audyssey website at www.audyssey.com/installer.

The Sub Equalizer will be available from July 1.
