ASUS announced their thinnest and lightest netbook, the Eee PC X101, with a 0.7-inch profile and weighing just 2 pounds. Preloaded with the easy to use Intel MeeGo operating system, the X101 allows users to stay connected to their favorite social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and more, while the ASUS Appstore allows instant access to applications, ebooks and games, plus rich cloud-based entertainment content.
The X101 shatters the mold of past netbooks with its super thin profile and lightweight, yet it is still fully equipped. It features the latest Intel Atom N435 processor with 1GB of RAM, 2x USB 2.0 ports, a MicroSD Card reader, built-in webcam and 8GB SSD for quick startup and launch times. ASUS Super Hybrid Engine technology is designed to conserve battery life while the X101 is available in a variety of colors including white and black.
The MeeGo OS was developed to help users stay socially connected through a convenient, easy to use interface. With specific applications for Facebook, Twitter, and a dedicated instant messaging client, keeping up with friends or family has never been easier. Google's Chrome browser is also built-in to the MeeGo for web surfing, while a variety of cloud-based services like the ASUS Appstore and the popular Dropbox online file storage are also available for use.
