Arendal Sound, makers of high-performance, precision-engineered audio equipment and speakers based in Norway, is offering up its latest generation flagship 1723 Speaker Series.
The 1723 lineup incorporates state-of-the-art acoustic performance, superior build quality, and Scandinavian design. The speakers are also THX Ultra Certified which means they are optimized for use in rooms of up to 3,000 cubic feet in volume, after being submitted and passing THX standards for application and performance.
Precision Engineering
The 1723 models are equipped with high-performance waveguide tweeters and mid-bass drivers. A key feature of the 1723 lineup is the integration of custom-designed HDF cabinets, which enhance the rigidity of the enclosure, reducing resonance and allowing for a cleaner, more articulate sound.
Each speaker in the series is built to deliver exceptional performance across a wide frequency range. Whether you’re listening to delicate classical compositions or high-energy action movie soundtracks, the 1723 series speakers are designed to handle it all, with rich detail and natural tonality.
1723 Series
The 1723 series is available in multiple configurations, offering something for every space and setup, from dedicated home cinemas to audiophile-grade living rooms.
The flagship 1723 Tower remains a standout for its full-range performance. The 1723 Monitor, 1723 Center, and 1723 Surround Speakers provide modular solutions for building a complete surround sound system tailored to any room size or configuration.
For optimized low-frequency extension, Arendal offers the redesigned 1723 Subwoofer range, equipped with larger drivers, advanced DSP, and improved amplification designed to deliver deep bass with pinpoint accuracy and control.
Technology Features
One of the most notable innovations in the 1723 series is Arendal Sound’s WaveGuide Technology, which enhances sound dispersion and imaging, resulting in a more immersive and lifelike listening experience. This is especially revealing in the tweeter where sound directivity and precision help to support a wide soundstage with accurate placement of vocals and instruments.
The woofers incorporate CCAW (Copper Clad Aluminium Wire) in the voice coil. This balances aluminium lightness, with copper connectivity. An aluminum shorting ring is included to reduce inductance, increase frequency bandwidth, and lower distortion.
High-grade crossover components ensure seamless integration between drivers, preserving the integrity of the audio signal and minimizing distortion. The 1723 speakers have been fine-tuned to offer a wide frequency response and dynamic range that allow both quiet passages and explosive scenes to be reproduced accurately.
Two of the subwoofers in the 1723 line (Subwoofer 1V, Subwoofer 2V) include ports that can be sealed via provided plugs if desired. Ports provide bass response in a more efficient manner than sealed enclosures, but may not be as precise. With Arendal you can operate the 1V and 2V with the ports open (bass reflex) or sealed.
Sustainability and Design
In addition to performance, the 1723 speakers are examples of Arendal Sound’s commitment to sustainable practices and thoughtful design. Each speaker incorporates environmentally sourced materials, including the use of HDF for the cabinets and recyclable packaging. The speakers are not only designed to sound great but also incorporate sleek lines, premium finishes, and minimalist styling
The 1723 speakers are available in Matte Black and Matte White finishes for easy blending with modern home interiors.
From Jan Ove Lassesen, founder of Arendal Sound: “Our goal with the 1723 series is to create speakers that can replicate the true essence of a music recording or a film soundtrack, exactly as the artist or director intended,…With the 1723 generation, we’ve refined every component, optimized every aspect of the design, and pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in high-end speaker performance…We understand that every listener’s environment is different, so we’ve designed the 1723 series to offer the utmost flexibility,…Whether you’re setting up a stereo system for critical music listening or creating a multi-channel home theater experience, you’ll find a configuration that fits perfectly.”
