From the S15 Power Conditioner with Battery Backup to the C5 Power Filter, APC Provides an Alternative Color Scheme to Accommodate all Interior Designs
LAS VEGAS, NEV., Jan. 5, 2006 — American Power Conversion (Nasdaq: APCC) (APC), a world leader in power availability and protection solutions, today unveiled six additional A/V power conditioning models in a bold and attractive black anodized aluminum enclosure. As an alternative to the stunning silver aluminum enclosures currently available, the additional SKU’s allow professional installers and consumers to choose the color that best integrates into their A/V systems. The new models include the S15BLK, S10BLK, SBATTBLK, H15BLK, H10BLK, C10BLK, and C5BLK.
Unstable power can destroy component power supplies, negatively impact sound and video quality as well as result in lost pre-sets, damaged hard drives, and missed digital video recordings (DVRs). All these threats are addressed by APCs extensive line of A/V Power Conditioners and Power Filters.
“With the proliferation of home entertainment systems, finding a cost-effective power conditioning solution that eliminates sound and video degradation has been challenging for consumers,” said Joe Loberti, general manager of APC’s Consumer Networks Solutions Group. “Depending on budget and type of A/V system a consumer is sure to find the perfect APC A/V product, and now we have all models in two colors — silver and black. The expansion of our A/V line with these new black anodized models signifies our continued commitment to the research and development of high quality, integrated, and complete power conditioning and protection for the A/V market.”
APC S10 and S15 A/V Power Conditioners with Battery Backup will prevent blackouts and other electrical transients from interrupting the A/V system. Lost pre-sets, missed DVR recordings and hard drive data corruption now can be avoided. Users can add S Type Extended Battery Packs to the S15 model to provide even more hours of battery runtime enabling the user to finish a movie or pay-per-view event when the power is out for an extended period. The S15 model also differs from the S10 in that it offers a higher power capacity for larger systems.
All the S Type and H Type Power Conditioners feature twelve surge-protected and filtered outlets. Six of these outlets have EMI/RFI noise filtering for digital devices such as HDTV monitors, DVR, and DVD players. They also offer two analog, two video, and two high current (amplifier, subwoofer) filtered outlets. Component-specific noise filtering banks prevent video and audio signal distortion.
For those who live in places where electrical noise and radio frequency interference is severe enough to affect picture and sound quality, APC can improve the user’s cinematic experience by allowing the equipment to perform to its maximum capabilities. Each model in the S and H Type series features Automatic Voltage Regulation, which eliminates voltage fluctuations (i.e. brownouts, sags, over-voltages) as a source of A/V signal degradation. Other A/V features include sequenced turn on/off functionality that regulates the way audio equipment is powered up/down. This feature prevents equipment damage caused by not turning A/V components on and off in the correct order. Inductor-less filtering for high current components is also included along with DC Voltage triggering, and a LCD display screen. The main difference between the S Type and H Type Power Conditioners is only the S Type provides Battery Backup.
The C Type Power Filters help eliminate power anomalies such as surges or electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) that threaten component hardware, A/V signal integrity, and system availability. The C5 provides ten surge-protected and filtered outlets and the C10 offers 12 similar outlets to ensure protection for all A/V components. The units also offer EMI/RFI noise filtering banks for digital, analog, video, and high-current (amplifier, subwoofer) devices. Each bank is isolated to prevent noise from polluting other connected devices. The C10 adds an additional feature with sequenced outlet banks to prevent stress or damage to the speakers as each component powers up. Each model offers “best in class” surge protection with an amazing Let-Through Voltage Rating of less than 40 volts.
The C10 offers three pairs of gold Coax protections jacks, with only two sets on the C5. Both provide phone jack surge protection, an additional safeguard for incoming signals. The C10 also has an Ethernet jack plus a DC trigger for remote sequenced power, as well as a power voltage indicator and LED load bar that displays incoming line voltage and available capacity.
All APC Power Conditioners and Power Filters carry safety certification from UL, FCC, and CSA. Because of APC’s world-class surge protection design and high-quality construction, all their Power Conditioners and Power Filter include an Equipment Protection Policy (EPP). If properly connected equipment is damaged due to the failure of any APC A/V product, APC will pay to repair or replace that equipment regardless of cost (see policy for details). Unlike typical homeowner’s insurance policies, APC’s EPP does not require paying premiums and is good for life. All models come standard with a two-year product warranty and for the S Type models that includes the battery.
All APC A/V products are currently shipping in both the black and silver finish at the following estimated resale price:
S15/S15BLK $1,499
S15/S15BLK $1,299
SBATT/SBATTBLK $499
H15/H15BLK $399
H10/H10BLK $299
