Amazon began offering its own branded TVs in 2021. Their sets are divided into the entry-level 4 series and mid-range Omni series. In 2022, Amazon expanded its Omni Series with the addition of 2 QLED models.
For 2023, Amazon has expanded its self-branded Fire TV family with three new screen sizes for its Omni QLED TV lineup and a new budget-priced TV line, the 2-Series.
In total there are four lines to consider, ordered from least to most expensive.
- Series 2 (32″, 40″) HDTV
- Series 4 (43″, 50″, 55″) 4K TV
- Omni (43″, 50″, 55″, 65″, 75″) 4K TV
- Omni QLED (43″, 50″, 55″, 65″, 75″) 4K TV
Tip: All Amazon-branded TVs are LCD TVs with LED backlighting.

Omni 4K QLED Series
New 43, 50, and 55-inch models, join Amazon’s previously released 65 and 75-inch Omni QLED models providing a wider range of screen sizes and more affordable pricing.
Core Features
LED Backlighting and Quantum Dots: What makes the QLED models different is that the backlight supports full-array local dimming and a Quantum Dot layer is placed between the LED backlight and LCD display panel. That is where the “Q” in QLED comes from. The QLED layer is composed of red, green, and blue nanoparticles. These particles enable a QLED TV to display a more precise color than a standard LED/LCD TV.
HDR: In addition to 4K display resolution and Quantum Dots, Amazon’s Omni Series QLED TVs support the following HDR formats: Dolby Vision/Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10/10+/10+ Adaptive, and HLG.
Fire TV Ambient Experience: This feature is included only on Omni QLED TVs. The sets have built-in presence sensors to detect when a person enters the room to switch to the Ambient Experience, which uses Alexa to display information, calendars, reminders, sticky notes, and other information. In addition, the Ambient Experience also includes access to an art gallery, free of charge.
Alexa Always On: Alexa is accessible hands-free through voice commands as the required microphones are built into the TV. If you prefer not to utilize Alexa Always On, you can turn it off and opt to press the microphone button on the TV’s remote to access Alexa voice commands and information. Alexa two-way video calling is also supported.
Built-in Fire TV OS: Just as with other Amazon-branded TVs, all of the capabilities of a Fire TV Stick are built into the TV. As a result, a separate Fire TV stick is not needed to get access to thousands of streaming apps.
Audio Support: All Omni Series models support Dolby Digital Plus decoding and pass-through of several Dolby Audio formats.
HDMI: Omni Series models include 4 HDMI inputs. Three of the HDMI inputs are ver 2.0 compliant and 1 HDMI input is ver 2.1 eARC compliant.
Wireless Speaker Connectivity: Wirelessly connect compatible Amazon Echo Smart Speakers, including the Echo Studio to use as surround speakers.
