In 2023, Amazon introduced the Fire TV Soundbar. Building on its success, Amazon is expanding its lineup with the new Fire TV Soundbar Plus Series. The first entry is the Fire TV Soundbar Plus, a 3.1-channel all-in-one model with support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DTS TruVolume.
Pro Tip: DTS TruVolume evens out the sound so that loud passages are softer and soft passages are louder, the downside is that it decreases the dynamic range of the audio. It is best used when for watching movies and listening to music late at night or if you have difficulty hearing soft passages.
A wide frequency range is supported providing detailed sound. In addition, the soundbar features four preset listening modes (Movie, Music, Sports, and Night). A customizable Dialogue Enhancer setting is also included.
Setup is easy. Turn the soundbar on and connect the included HDMI cable to the TV’s HMDI ARC/eARC port.
The Soundbar Plus’s all-in-one design incorporates three full-range speakers, three tweeters, and two woofers.
Expansion Options
You can expand the Fire TV Soundbar Plus from 3.1 to 5.1 channels with the addition of an optional wireless subwoofer and wireless surround sound speakers, designed to pair with the soundbar.
If you prefer, you can opt for adding just the subwoofer or just the wireless surround speakers. The Fire TV Soundbar Plus with the optional subwoofer and wireless speakers is designed to be a perfect companion for Amazon’s Omni Series QLED and QLED Mini-LED TVs.

Important Tips
The Soundbar Pro Plus is an audio-only soundbar. As a result, here are important tips to take into consideration.
- It is not Alexa-enabled and does not support Alexa Home Theater.
- A Fire TV streaming media player or smart TV is required to access the Fire TV experience.
- To control both your TV and the Fire TV Soundbar Plus volume and power, you must use a TV remote (not included).
- Only select Fire TV streaming media players and Fire TV smart TVs allow you to change audio settings within the Fire TV menu.
The Bottom Line
The Fire TV Soundbar Plus a step up from 2023’s Fire TV Soundbar, but doesn’t appear to be that unique when compared to all the other soundbars in its price range. However, Amazon does offer buyers three versions, depending on their needs at very competitive price points.
Although Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are incorporated into Soundbar Plus, beware that the effectiveness of immersive audio will be somewhat limited since there are no upward-firing speakers to produce height effects. However, Soundbar Plus is one of the first soundbars to feature DTS TruVolume, which claims to intelligently monitor audio to eliminate annoying volume fluctuations and keep sound natural.
