Alteva Thanks Philadelphia Phillies for Two Bushels of Oranges
Philadelphia, PA — November 17, 2008 — Alteva, the largest provider of enterprise hosted VoIP in North America, today publicly thanked the Philadelphia Phillies for their prize of two bushels of oranges. Alteva entered into a friendly wager with its Tampa Bay-based competitor, Televations over the 2008 World Series which the Phillies won four games to one. The bet between the two hosted phone system providers had Alteva putting up a dozen cheesesteaks against Telovations’ two bushels of oranges.
The pot was sweetened by BroadSoft, the worldwide leader of VoIP application software that enables the delivery of hosted telephony and multimedia services for both vendors. BroadSoft presented the winner with two complimentary tickets (a value of $1690) to Connections 2009, its annual executive users’ conference, which is scheduled to take place October 26–29 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“Where we may compete in some instances, Alteva looks at other hosted providers as allies in delivering the message that hosted solutions have now become a no-brainer for businesses looking to take advantage of Voice over IP,” said William Bumbernick, President and CEO of Alteva. “Like Telovations, we can easily show how installing, maintaining, and using a hosted solution helps businesses save money, eliminate IT strain, and increases productivity.”
