Altec Lansing announced the inAir 5000 Wireless AirPlay Speaker (MA5000) which allows users of Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) or iTunes to stream music wirelessly over their Wi-Fi network to any room in the house. Connecting to the inAir 5000 through Apple's Airplay is fast and simple, especially when Altec Lansing's free inAir Guide app is utilized, allowing users to stream music wirelessly via any compatible device or their full iTunes library. Engineered from the ground up, the inAir 5000 features a unique design fortified to prevent distortion and vibration.
The dual 3-inch mid-range drivers are constructed of super strong Kevlar to deliver true vocals and mid-tones with minimal distortion. Triple amplifiers drive the system with dedicated power to the mid-range drivers, the neodymium tweeters and the thunderous 4-inch subwoofer.
Altec claims the unique, non-parallel walls deliver clarity and minimal loss through the entire tonal range, while Adaptive DSP and MaxxBass widen the sound field, tame high frequencies and offer lower bass-response.
A handy USB port allows you to charge your device and an auxiliary input connects another audio source.
The inAir 5000 is a first in a series of audio networking products that capitalizes on the audio engineering excellence and groundbreaking product design of Altec Lansing.
