Alereon NoWire Laptop to HDTV Extender Kit

Alereon, Inc., the technology leader for Ultra Wideband (UWB) WiMedia solutions, today announced the availability of its NoWire™ Laptop to HDTV Extender Kit reference design. Alereon’s NoWire™ technology allows OEMs to provide a unique product that allows consumers to quickly and easily enjoy their laptops wirelessly connected to their HDTVs. Alereon’s NoWire technology allows customers to set-up the Alereon Laptop to HDTV Extender without the installation of wireless drivers or user applications. The Extender Kit which consists of a small 2″ USB dongle and a small HDMI adapter for the HDTV supports Windows-7, MAC OS-X, Windows XP and Vista.

The Alereon NoWire™ Laptop to HDTV Extender wirelessly displays a notebook screen onto a HDTV, monitor, or any other type of HDMI enabled display device. Streaming the wireless video link between a PC and a HDTV at speeds up to 220 Mbps via ultra wideband wireless technology leaves the WiFi radio in the PC free to connect to the internet at full speed to stream video files from web sites such as Hulu, Netflix and YouTube. Supporting resolutions up to 1680 x1050 graphics or you can view 720p audio and video streams up to 30 feet away. In addition, Alereon’s AL5000 UWB chipsets offers the only true World Wide solution by supporting Band Groups 1, 3 and 6 which enables end users around the world to use multiple channels in the legal frequency ranges in their particular country. Alereon’s NoWire technology is available today from Icreon in their HUWB-2510 and HUWB-2010 Wireless Video/Audio/Internet/USB HUB Complex Kit use for streaming audio and video from laptops to HDTV’s for use in school classrooms. Alereon UWB technology can also be found in Toshiba’s Wireless dynadock U docking station.

Alereon Laptop to HDTV Wireless HDMI solution will be available from OEMs in the first quarter of 2010.
