New Disc Offers Amazing 8.5-GB Storage Capacity, Consistent High-Quality Recording,
Wide-Range Compatibility, and Cost-Effective Label Customization
Diamond Bar, CA –February 14, 2005 — Advanced Media, Inc., manufacturer and marketer of the popular RIDATA brand of recordable CD and DVD media, electronic storage products, and digital media accessories, has added an inkjet-printable, double-layer DVD+R disc to its line of products. The advanced, single-sided disc has an amazing 8.5GB of storage capacity, enough for up to four hours of DVD-quality video, 16 hours of VHS-quality video, or over 120 hours of MP3 audio.
“Our printable double-layer DVD+R disc provides users with the convenience of both the largest-storage capacity currently available on one DVD disc and professional quality labeling,” stated Andy Huang, Advanced Media (RITEK USA) Marketing Manager. “It has limitless business, education, and personal applications. It allows users to read, write, or store nearly twice the amount of data than they can with single-layer 4.7-GB discs without having to flip sides or change discs.”
Special technology allows material to be either read or recorded on one layer without affecting material on the other layer. When data is being recorded or read, it does so continuously from the first layer to the second without interruption. It records at speeds of 1 ~ 2.4X and uses a premium organic-dye recording material.
The new RIDATA printable, double-layer disc is compatible with current DVD video players, DVD game consoles, and DVD-ROM drives as well as new DVD+R DL drives. It may be used with virtually any available disc printer, such as Primera Technology’s best-selling Bravo (TM) Disc Publisher and its Signature Z6(R) CD / DVD Printer.
The Advanced Media printable double-layer disc, as well as the company’s nonprintable DVD+R double layer version _ the world’s first such recordable disc _ has been certified to be in compliance with the DVD+R Alliance, a voluntary group of industry-leading personal computing, optical storage, blank media, software and electronics manufacturers that develops, maintains, supports and promotes the DVD+R and DVD+RW formats. Additionally, it has been quality tested by a variety of burner manufacturers and software developers, all of whom have approved it.
Along with its new double-layer inkjet printable disc, Advanced Media also offers 4X and 8X single-layer inkjet-printable DVD+/-R discs.
The RIDATA-brand single-sided, inkjet-printable double-layer DVD+R disc will be competitively street priced. It is available at leading computer and office-supply locations across the country as well as through many popular online sites.
