Acer just introduced a $199.99 entry-level, 11.6-inch Chromebook (model C720-2848), which runs on an Intel Celeron processor based on the Haswell micro-architecture, with 16GB SSD, 2GB of DDR3 memory, while claiming 8.5 hours of battery life. This announcement follows the recently released C720-2800 Chromebook for $249.99, which is exactly the same with 2GB more RAM.
Both Acer C720 Chromebooks measures only 0.75-inches in thickness and are lightweight at only 2.76 pounds. The vibrant 11.6-inch ComfyView HD display has a 1366×768 resolution that keeps websites, images and video crisp and clear.
The Acer C720 features an integrated HD webcam for video chatting as well as capturing video and photos for sharing online. It connects to hotspots and wireless networks quickly via 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi. Plus, the dual speaker design ensures crisp and clear stereo audio for enjoying music, video and more.
Connecting to popular consumer electronics devices such as camcorders, digital cameras and smart phones is easy and convenient with the C720’s fast USB 3.0 port as well as a USB 2.0 port. It also has an HDMI port for pushing video and content to external displays and HDTVs.
