Las Vegas, NV–(January 04, 2006)– 3M has launched a new projector with an integrated DVD player, a 5.1 channel audio system, and exclusive Vikuiti Super Close Projection will produce a 100″ image from under four feet away and a 60″ image from only two feet away and the projector will feature the Realta HQV processor for outstanding image quality. The new 3M DMS 700 will be sold through distribution and be available in Q2 2006.
“The 3M DMS 700 will use the no-compromise Realta HQV processor which makes any standard DVD video approach the image quality of HD video. The Realta video processor maintains the highest quality graphics, fine text, and crisp video, thus offering flexibility and utility both in the home and in the office,” said John Griffiths, 3M’s Business Marketing Manager.
Realta “HQV Powered by Teranex” encompasses true 10-bit video processing, full four-field motion- adaptive video deinterlacing for both standard-definition and high-definition signals, pixel-by-pixel temporal-recursive noise reduction, automatic multi-cadence detection, and pixel-based detail enhancement. It also uses the same video processing power–one trillion operations per second– as the $60k Teranex Xantus box.
“3M has raised the bar for this category. With its Vikuiti Super Close Projection, 5.1 surround sound System, the ability to produce a large image from such a short distance, and Realta HQV video processing, this projector is sure to be a home run for 3M,” said Dennis Crespo, VP of Marketing, Silicon Optix.
