Samsung and LG might be dominating the premium TV category right now, but don’t tell that to the people at Hisense who have made very impressive progress over the past 3 years when it comes to improving the quality of their TV’s and their market penetration. Hisense has a huge presence at CES 2023 and a very impressive lineup of new ULED models for consumers to consider.
The brand is now #2 worldwide and also owns the rights to Toshiba TV moving forward.
In 2023, the brand is taking its commitment to making premium technology accessible even further with 14 Mini LED TVs for every budget across four series. Many of this year’s models include gaming support at 144 Hz VRR and NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) support for 4K over-the-air broadcasts. All models are powered by the Google TV platform.
What’s notable is that all three 2023 Hisense ULED TV series use Mini LED technology and will be available in 85-inch screen sizes, which means we expect to see some incredible values for the first time at that screen size.
U6K Series
Interestingly the entry-level 2023 Hisense U6K series implements Mini LED technology and could very well be the most affordable model of that type this year. It will certainly be the most affordable Hisense Mini LED TV, but we’ll have to wait until competitor pricing is revealed.
2023 Hisense U6K models combine ULED with Mini LED technology, Quantum Dot, more local dimming zones and higher peak brightness over last year’s models, along with Dolby Atmos and eARC for audio. Plus there’s support for picture features like Dolby Vision HDR, HDR 10+, Quantum Dot, MEMC and FilmMaker Mode. Meanwhile Game Mode and Dolby Vision with a 60Hz VRR and auto-low latency mode ensure a fun gaming experience.
The U6K will be priced from $500 and arrive in sizes from 50 to 85-inches.
U7K Series
The mid-level 2023 Hisense U7K Mini LED TVs should appeal to both gamers and movie lovers without breaking the bank. These ULED TVs are Calman ready for optimizing color and feature packed with support for Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HLR Quantum Dot, IMAX Enhanced, and FilmMaker Mode. Dolby Atmos and eARC are supported along with WiSA SoundSend for wireless speaker connectivity.
Gamers will appreciate that the U7K supports next-gen consoles, including an upgraded 144Hz Variable Refresh Rate for smooth, tear-free motion. Additional features like automatic low-latency mode (ALLM), FreeSync™ Premium Pro, HDR 10+ Gaming and Dolby Vision deliver fluid game play with instant response times and minimal motion blur.
Additionally, U7K models include a NEXTGEN TV ATSC 3.0 tuner and offer voice services like dialogue enhancement, consistent loudness, and interactive services.
U7K models will arrive in sizes from 55- to 85-inches.
U8K Series
The flagship U8K Series offer the best picture quality in the Mini LED category. It more than doubles local dimming zones over last year’s model, and boasts extreme brightness up to 1500 nits with incredible black levels and details. Plus, it incorporates an anti-glare and low reflection screen to further enhance the overall viewing experience by keeping TV reflections to a minimum.
All the gaming and picture modes from the U7K Series are included such as IMAX enhanced, FilmMaker Mode, Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, 144Hz native refresh rate, Game Mode Pro, Auto Low Latency Mode, FreeSync™ Premium Pro and ultra-high speed HDMI ports. However, the U8K adds wireless support of WiFi 6e.
The U8K, like the U7K also offers an integrated NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) tuner for high-quality over-the-air broadcast content, Dolby Atmos, eARC and WiSA SoundSend for wireless speaker connectivity.
The U8K Series will be available in 55- to 85-inch screen sizes.
A65K Series
For those that just want a basic TV without all the fancy features, the 2023 Hisense A65K Series TV will arrive in sizes from 43- to 75-inches at wallet friendly price points. These models are also powered by Google TV and should deliver good picture quality along with smart home features.
