A decade after introducing the world to the first large-screen OLED TV, LG continues to innovate and at the 2023 CES, will be unveiling its most advanced range of OLED TVs yet.
LG’s OLED TVs have received CES Innovation Awards for 11 years in a row. They have earned that recognition by continuing to make improvements that have impacted the TV market. OLED TV tech provides exceptional picture quality which includes accurate color and the ability to display absolute black.
However, in order to stay competitive with the increased brightness capability of LCD-based QLED TVs and both brightness and color-accurate newcomer QD-OLED — LG can’t afford to stand still.
LG Remains Committed to OLED
LG’s commitment to OLED TV technology has resulted in innovative designs, such as the fashion statement Objet line, the rollable LG SIGNATURE OLED R, and the bendable LG OLED Flex.
Tip: The Flex has won an Innovation Award in the Gaming category for CES 2023.
The 8K Z3, 4K UHD G3, and C3 OLED evo series head up LG’s 2023 OLED TV lineup. These latest generation models feature higher brightness, better color accuracy, and improved clarity and detail thanks to LG OLED evo panels and the new α9 Gen6 AI Processor.
Brightness Booster Max
LG’s OLED evo G3 Series includes its Brightness Booster Max feature. This includes a new light control architecture using MLA technology and light-boosting algorithms that can increase brightness by up to 70 percent. Brightness is mapped and controlled on a pixel-by-pixel basis, resulting in sharper, more realistic images.
Tip: Brightness Booster Max applies to 55/65/75-inch G3 models.
α9 Gen 6 AI Processor
This latest Alpha series processor utilizes sophisticated AI-assisted Deep Learning tech to ensure outstanding picture and sound quality.
AI Picture Pro: For 2023, this feature provides improved video resolution upscaling, and enhanced dynamic tone mapping. This combination of technologies reveals more depth and detail in every frame. AI Picture Pro also integrates a picture processing technology that detects and refines important objects, such as people’s faces, to give them a more lifelike HDR quality.
AI Sound Pro: In addition to the improved image, the α9 AI Gen 6 Processor includes AI Sound Pro which supports virtual 9.1.2 surround sound from the TVs’ built-in speaker system.
Exterior Design (G3)

Home Cinema Features
For an optimal home cinema experience, LG OLED TVs continue to support the image- and audio-enhancing capabilities of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
As an added bonus 2023 models provide seamless integration with the latest LG soundbars, delivering outstanding multi-channel surround sound with IMAX-enhanced quality powered by DTS: X. LG TV and soundbar also combine to offer the WOW Orchestra feature, which takes advantage of both products’ audio channels to produce stronger, more immersive sound.

HDMI 2.1a
LG’s 2023 OLED models support many HDMI 2.1a-compliant features. They are also the first TV sets to be certified by the HDMI organization for the recently announced Quick Media Switching VRR (QMS–VRR). When used with compatible source devices QMS-VRR eliminates the momentary ‘black screen’ that sometimes occurs when switching between source devices connected to the TV’s HDMI 2.1a compliant ports.
Gaming
LG’s OLED TVs have received high marks for gaming support. For 2023, their sets now boast a 0.1 millisecond response time, low input lag, and up to four HDMI2.1a compliant ports.
LG OLED TVs also include Game Optimizer. This feature allows users to quickly select and switch between gaming-specific features, such as game-genre display presets. Settings for G-SYNC® Compatible, FreeSync™ Premium, and variable refresh rate (VRR) are easily accessible from the Game Optimizer as well.
Eco-Friendy
It seems that every corporation these days is proclaiming its eco-friendliness.
For 2023 LG claims that their TVs are designed to be kinder to the environment, from production all the way through to disposal creating sustainable cycles. LG OLED TVs have no backlighting unit, which means fewer materials to produce than LCD-based TV. LG also uses components made from recycled plastics.
TV packaging is made from recyclable materials and features single-color printing. From a direct health standpoint, LG’s 2023 model OLED TVs have also been certified low blue light by TÜV Rheinland, and flicker-free by UL Solutions.
Tip: Additional product specifications, pricing, and availability for LG’s 2023 OLED (and LCD-based QNED) TV lines are still forthcoming. When provided, it will be added to this article or new articles published as needed.
