Kaleidescape, maker of movie players and movie servers, that come with access to a movie rental and purchase download movie store, and Keith Yates Design (KYD), a world-renowned master of the science of theater design and acoustical engineering, have announced a strategic partnership to offer premium content and home theater environment to those that can afford their products and services.

What Kaleidescape Provides

Kaleidescape offers up several movie server and player products that work in conjunction with an online store where you can rent or purchase movies (prices vary) in DVD, Blu-ray, or UHD Blu-ray video quality (including HDR), along with access to advanced audio (Dolby Atmos/DTS:X) and access to all the special features you might find on the disc versions. 

The Kaleidescape movie store has over 14,000 movie titles for purchase and more than 8,000 for rent in DVD or Blu-ray Disc quality. Kaleidescape also offers over 1,500 movies in 4K UHD and continually growing.

Kaleidescape also includes access to a mobile app for content navigation and management.

What Keith Yates Design (KYD) Provides

KYD is a leading design and engineering firm specializing in high-end private theaters and screening rooms. KYD uses a science-based approach supported by engineering tools and an in-house team of architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers, and construction administrators. 

Since 1991 KYD has focused on envisioning, modeling, optimizing, documenting, testing, and calibrating these venues for cinematographers, and technologists as well as everyday movie and music lovers that can afford their services. 

The goal is to make sure customers not only a have visually pleasing home theater layout, but that the layout enables all components to perform at their best and the client enjoying the best possible home theater experience without unwanted ambient noise, such as echos, projector fans and HVAC systems.

KYD offers three levels of service:

  1. Essentials – This is a basic version of KYD’s acoustic design and engineering elements that provide an excellent experience for those with a more limited budget.
  2. Red – A full-service design, engineering, construction drawings, and exhaustive testing. KYD stays with the client every step of the way to ensure that the customized interior design delivers the desired immersive experiences.
  3. Black Label – When cost is no object, Black label service provides R&D science to solve performance-limiting challenges that seem to have no known solution. Such projects have resulted in a number of our industry-first inventions.
