Vinyl Me, Please (VMP) have announced a rather interesting and expensive box set that is scheduled to ship in October. The Story of Vanguard features 6 classic recordings from Joan Baez, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Odetta, The Weavers, Doc Watson, and Skip James.
VMP are only making 1,000 copies of the box set available; each album is a 180 gram colored vinyl pressing.
What’s Included?
A seven-episode podcast season will tell the story of every album in this box, and the artists who made them. It will release to all DSPs when this box set ships.
First edition limited to 1,000 on 180 gram audiophile colored vinyl, pressed at GZ. All six albums were AAA cut from the mono master tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound.
All of these albums were lacquered directly from the mono master tapes, preserving the original sound upon release of these albums in the ‘50s and ‘60s.
Read the story of these six albums in a 36-page liner notes and photo booklet.
