Idle Moments Blue Note Album Cover Crop

August has been a great month for new vinyl releases and we can’t remember a summer like 2021 with multiple Record Store Day events and a few hundred new record releases. Throw in a global pandemic, the return of live music in some parts of the world, and a botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and who wouldn’t want to stay home and listen to new records. Lorde, Grant Green, Dawes, and the Killers lead the charge this week.

Lorde: Solar Power (Republic, Indie-exclusive brown vinyl)

Grant Green: Idle Moments (Blue Note Records, 180 gram audiophile pressing)

The Killers: Pressure Machine (Island Records)

Dawes: Nothing is Wrong (Ato Records, 2 x clear vinyl)

Kenny Burrell: Midnight Blue (Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series)

Tori Amos: Under the Pink (Atlantic, 2 LPs)

Suzie Ungerleider: My Name is Suzy Ungerleider (Mvka Music)

James McMurtry: The Horses and the Hounds (New West Records)
