Colemine Records: Monophonics and Ben Pirani Albums Available for Pre-order

A visit to Colemine Records and Plaid Room Records is on our bucket list for 2021; Ian White hopes to make the trip to Ohio in November after visiting Third Man in Detroit and PSB/NAD in Toronto. Our favorite indie record label keeps on pressing and releasing some incredible music in 2021 and they have just announced 2 new 45s from the Monophonics and Ben Pirani that you can pre-order.

Never heard of Colemine Records?

Colemine Records (not to be confused with Coalmine records) started as a branding exercise for a new album release by its founder at a Subway in Oxford, Ohio in 2007. When retailers in the United States and Japan liked the quality of their first release, the decision was made to become a legit record label and help other artists have their music pressed and sold direct.

Terry and Bob Cole have been running Colemine out of Ohio since 2014 and their line-up of artists has certainly evolved over the years. With almost 140 albums available on their website; music lovers can select from multiple formats including records, CDs, and cassettes.

Aside from the Colemine label, they also operate Karma Chief which includes the Grammy-nominated Black Pumas and an ever-growing and ever-diverse roster which also includes Ghost Funk Orchestra, Neal Francis, Rudy De Anda, GA-20, The Gabbard Brothers, Michael Nau, Andrew Gabbard, and Kendra Morris.

Two fresh new 45s up for pre-order today. A double sided heater from Monophonics, with their epic soul jam “Last One Standing” from their It’s Only Us LP.

Plus a new joint from Ben Pirani with a slow burner on the B-side and a big ol’ uptempo number on the A.

Ben Pirani & The Means Of Production are back with their first single from their newly built studio. Heavy dance floor vibes with a punk attitude are the order of the day! Dig on Ben’s new composition “More Than A Memory” with lush, soulful string arrangements from Ben and mix engineer Rafferty Swink.
