Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1500 Registered: Aug-05 | i'm not too familiar with MMATS subs, but you could ask Jonathan or GW about them, they might know a little more. i do know they are high-quality stuff, and i think they are more of an SPL company, but i could be wrong. |

I asked glass y nobody mentions em on this forum 1st wk i signed & he replied that most ppl on never even heard ,or r young kids who r always broke or too cheap 2 buy such highend stuff . He has used them though . they r very expensive like JL . Thinking of running a mmats vs jl thread just for da fun of it . here's 2 more 4 ya : |

Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 761 Registered: Jul-05 | Yep - thats y i haven't posted pics of my ride as yet cause i haven't washed/vacuumed it 3wks now - lol . Everyday i get bz with work bidnes & on here . Those Philips boxes below r homemade in the late eighties by my older bro (he traded other speakers with a friend & got those @ that time) . A few yrs later i made the front baffle sealed ,rewired it in parallel as well as resealed all internal joints ,applied carpeting & thats when they really started playing loud/sweeet ! . They r not big coil/magnet subs so they don't required alot of power to play good - in fact u would not believe but another much older bro bought in 1982 a brand new 2 chan Pioneer amp (GM 120 ,60w x 2) & Pioneer casette deck that we use (& still use !) to play both boxes off 1 chan @ home using a 12volt adapter & these boxes absolutely perform like champions with the volume all the way up without distorting !!!!! HOW'S THAT FOR OLD SKOOL EQUIPMENT !!! These r the very same boxes if u remember that i told u about that i used to hook up to my TV when playing MK2 on my old SNES ! |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 762 Registered: Jul-05 | Btw - imagine , 60 watts being split by 6 speakers running off 1 channel ... what kinda ohms would that be !? & look what kind of work the amp is being asked to do & does it well ! ...lol |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1536 Registered: Aug-05 | hey, tell me what you think of what i'm saying, and then what dave says. just read from the post i start the link at and down. i think i am right, but i am open to other opinions https://www.ecoustics.com/cgi-bin/bbs/show.pl?tpc=4&post=461690#POST461690 |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1540 Registered: Aug-05 | guess i was wrong...in a sense....but now i have it figured out. this forum, Car Audio in particualar, like you said earlier today, is SOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOOW!! no one wants to be on ecoustics today? lol another thing i have noticed, GW and JON got on like once today, and that was it!! |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 764 Registered: Jul-05 | Such technical debating like that i tend to not pay attention - too much headache , 2 sides to every situation ... Sometimes GW and JON prolly get tired on the same whining 'ooh i already bought my 4000w max pyramid amp but i don't know what sub to buy ?' or 'what amp will push my mofo cause i want to be heard in like Mexico when i'm out with my homies on da boulevard ?' or 'i bought 2 15" L7 & when i hook em up to my 4000w boss or lanzar amp they aren't lound as i thought they would be ' when u tell them to get a mono amp that pushed 1000wrms @ 1ohm or wire your 2 DVC subs parallel to 2ohms - they r like whats dvc & what is a ohm ? I try my patience helping some ppl - but sometimes i just post www.bcae1.com or www.the12volt.com or www.crutchfield.com read the tutorial section ! |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1555 Registered: Aug-05 | lol, yeah, i do get kind of tired of that. i have been jamming to Metallica for the past hour. so i'm nice and relaxed, if that makes sense. lol |

Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1622 Registered: Aug-05 | oh, i know i am going with 1 12" IDMAX, it is set in stone. lol i am sure they are at the same level as the XXX, but the XXX will get louder, due to power handling and excursion. check out my new thread. i'm so excited!! https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/164152.html |

Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1649 Registered: Aug-05 | if my calculations are correct....lol i've always wanted to say that. you are looking at around 158.3A of current from just your amplifiers at full power. so just add 158A + your stock alt's amps = what your new HO alt should be around. |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1650 Registered: Aug-05 | i noticed that you are planning to get a Pioneer Premier HU. the one that has 6V pre-outs. i read on Alpine's website that the 545's gain only goes up to 4V. i wonder what you would have to do to set the gain right? |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 830 Registered: Jul-05 | " i read on Alpine's website that the 545's gain only goes up to 4V. " I guess that info fell straight through my fingers - what would be the outcome ??? If it was the other way around that would def b a problem - but i can get away with this case right ? |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 831 Registered: Jul-05 | U seen b4 that your shop uses those 12s IDQ i was talking about - u ever heard any ,like a pair ported or sealed ?????? |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 832 Registered: Jul-05 | U said b4 that your shop uses those 12s IDQ i was talking about - u ever heard any ,like a pair ported or sealed ?????? |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1662 Registered: Aug-05 | nah, i have just seen them. most people where i live have no concept of SQL, all they want is to be heard from 100yds away. except for me and the people that work at the audioshop, and a few other regulars that come in once a week to talk shop. |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 833 Registered: Jul-05 | Would have thought that since your shop is an agent u prolly heard em . What about my ?s above concerning the amp/HU voltage ???? |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1674 Registered: Aug-05 | the only things i have heard at the shop is Oz Audio, Audiobahn(crap), Crystal, Treo, Morel, JL, Focal, DLS, Arc Audio, Alto, Cerwin-Vega, Resonant Engineering, Pioneer, JBL, Digital Designs, Volfenhag(okay), Infinity, Lanzar(crap), Kicker, and i can't think of anymore. lol i would think that you wouldn't be able to turn the HU up very far w/o reaching max power on the amps. |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 837 Registered: Jul-05 | Hmmmm - Lanzar ,like $50 for a 100wrms amp .lol Can u ask your boys 2morrow about that voltage thing 4 me then ? ....leave it up 2 u 2 git me all worried about that . lol Would u not say that DD is not in the same class as RE ? or r they more expensive ? |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1688 Registered: Aug-05 | DD's are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more expensive than RE's. the are also more SPQL oriented. they get VERY loud, and have great SQ while doing it. they are no Brahma, IDMAX, XXX, Avalanche, but they sound WAAAY better than say Power Acoustik's or Kicker Solo's. they are up there with Treos in price. in fact, they are more expensive. the most expensive sub Treo has is only $1000(haha only $1000). http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/pricesSubwoofers.asp see what i mean? i'm sure Jon could answer that ?. just post a thread about it. reason being is i have to work alllllll day tomorrow, and i won't be able to go to my audioshop 2morrow. DUH!!!! i guess i could call them. LOL(sometimes i amaze myself. lol) |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 839 Registered: Jul-05 | I'd b embarassed 2 post a thread on that not to mention the dissing i'd receive . I could prolly go bcae1 or google & look it up myself - if u can call them then thanx that would be great . U know sometimes these lil technical stuff u feel bother to go look it up - but hey show me a sub & i'll go look up an amp 4 ya & vice versa which is more exciting 2 do .....lol Then u'd better go git some sleep boy - my eyes r getting sleepy so i might too soon ....... |

Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 853 Registered: Jul-05 | Its the best pic size i can get cause paint doesn't want 2 open it so i can edit it - so 300 x 200 is d best my camera can resize so it can b uploaded .... |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 854 Registered: Jul-05 | last 2 - all pics were originally 1800x1200 size & on my 19" pc monitor shows 10 times better . |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 1714 Registered: Aug-05 | that's a cool car. and i really like your rims. i talked to steve today, and he said that you need to turn the gain all the way down(to 4V) and you simply will not turn your HU up as much to get full power from the amp. |

Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 889 Registered: Jul-05 | Well a 15" mmats juggernauth is tt$3g - actually cheaper than online ... thats suspicious ... Listen up : I know u r a bright fellow but when in school/class 4get about the forum even when u r on a break - this stuff(along with other guy stuff) will get u easily distracted from school work . School's pretty boring i been there but its a part of life cause in the 5yrs my shop's been open i seen many kids finish school with no qualifications & end up working for minimum wage in the S/markets etc . In my time i almost slacked way off then pulled up myself when i sat down & think about it ,also from embarassment when i saw others working hard & more others just doing zip . Long story short - i pushed aside my distractions just in time & passed all my subjects . Very fortunate too that playstation & PCs etc wasn't around in my day - LOL U r my buddy so i just had to say something when i saw u posting from class but I know u definitely already knew all that jive ... |

Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 968 Registered: Jul-05 | Found it strange u weren't around d forums last night . Heck we got cable with HBO/cinemax etc & i may watch a movie once a month - last movie i saw on cable was 'Shark Tale' , currently 'the incredibles' is running on cable & i haven't seen it as yet .... man , that 'Gal S' guy gave me a workout ! - noticed how long that thread is ! ...well i think i just gave him da final advice so hopefully he's on d correct route now ..... |

Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 977 Registered: Jul-05 | it means d lowest it can go is 38hz & not only . d point i'm making showing u d link is that this guy's making a big deal outta stuff when its pretty much simple as matching stuff powerwise & choosing d best u can afford . Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 978 Registered: Jul-05 | Alto Mobile Subs ??? - well 1st time i'm hearing that brand ...who told u about them ? I think 4 me i'd like 2 - JL 13w7 with 2 JL 1000/1 amps in a ported box ov course . 4 - 6.5" either Rainbow,Dyn ,Morel or Focal 1 - Zapco 4 channel amp HU - well according to GW that would be alpine F1 thing right ? with Xm/Sirius radio . All fitted in any BMW/Benz station wagon or SUV for good interior acoustics . |
