I bought a PS2 slim version in late December 2004. After about 2 months, it stopped reading discs. I called the manufacturer and they told me to send it back and they'd replace it. That's what I did (after shelling out over $20 for shipping to them). I got my new game today played it for about 5 minutes and the same thing happened. I've got to dole out another 20 to get yet another new one. My question is this: I was playing Syphonfilter the Omega Strain when my original PS2 went bad. This is the same game I was playing when the second one went bad. Could it possibly be the game ruining the game system. I asked the customer service rep this question and he told me that if I've got any friends with a PS2 system that I should try the game out on theirs. I said "what a sharp idea. I'd love to ruin their game system too...misery loves company." Any advice out there would be greatly appreciated.
