I wish I could post pics but I don't have a camera right now. Anyway, my budget system offers good bang for the buck since I got the speakers used from someone who went bankrupt.
Amp/Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5740 6.1 channel TV:an old Panasonic 27" w/only a composite input. Game System: Xbox I got new free from a contest Components: Dish Network DVR, Philips Dvd Player Speakers:4 old KLH AV5001s and two Paradigm centers. Sub:MartinLogan Descent, first actual high-end thing
I love the bang for the buck this system gives. I can get the sound to +12 before it clips and the sub gladly handles it. The Klh's sound very clean for only paying $4 each, a bargain! I still had to let go of $1700 for the sub. I got it through a friend at insider price. Paradigms sound very clean for 15$ each front and back. The rest of the system needs to be upgraded including Klhs but I think I'll be fine.
I'm just very pleased with how little I had to pay for the system. It's really convincing on loud passages like in the movie Die Another Day during the car chase. The Descent definitely shakes with complete authority; blends well. I can't wait to upgrade the weak links.
Andre, isn't it great what a good sub will do? Personally, I love MartinLogan's electrostats and someday I will have a room full of them and a rack full of high end amps to run 'em.
Anyway, I see you're bitten by the bug. Good luck with your future upgrades.

HAHA that's not really my setup. That's just what I said when I was new.
The only things that aren't right there are the speakers and sub.
The speakers are 2 of those KLH for mains (no center (probably will have it soon, maybe I'll put it in after our power comes back on).
JBL 4311 studio control monitors for L/R surrounds OLD Bose Model 100 for back surround, probably going to use the other as a center later if I can't get the Paradigm center.
