Post Number: 8852 Registered: Jul-05 | Finished 2day doing a small install 4 some1 on a 2006 model Ford Focus -- car is about 3mths old Replaced stock HU with a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X789 (his choice) Replaced stock Door speakers with some DLS Ref6.5" PS6 Placed 1 15" MMATS P2.5 400wrms sub in trunk 4" ported around 33 Hz approx , sub & port on slanted front of box which is about 2.8cuft Both sub/box & amp was both bought used in very good condition from 1st owner - HU & DLS r brand new Stock Double Din HU (4got 2 take out pic b4 i removed it) New HU in place - i made that black carpeted plate around it , $aved $25 Note RIGHT HAND DRIVE - thats how ALL cars in my country are Stock Door speaker What came out New DLS 6.5" goes in -- made a mdf frame 4 it which is padded by a piece of black carpet 2 prevent any rattle Notice how original door still looks even after new comp set went in 4got 2 take pix of the tweeters when i mounted it in the stock location Powering whole system is a Crossfire VR705 5 channel amp 50Wx4 RMS @ 4ohms with 300Wx1 on the sub check its birthsheet Amp Time Power wire/fuse on battery ^^^yes its screwed onto the air cleaner housing , engine room is so crowded that there was no other place i could see 2 mount it on , its attached securely/airtight & won't affect the engine in any way Damn -- in the hurry I 4got 2 take Front pixs of the box showing the sub , when the owner comes back around in a few days I will take pix of it then anyway its this sub http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2157 back of box but we faced it backwards after pic was taken Was getting dark so here r a few quick pix of the car well there it is folks - no need 4 me 2 show u wires cause all have been neatly hidden under trim/carpet & u will never know/ see that its there Sounds quite loud with a slight trunk rattle & front windscreen vibrating a bit noticeably but clean & the difference over stock 'system' & new real system is like night & day ... ......owner was pleased...... |

Post Number: 8862 Registered: Jul-05 | i do all install incl boxes by myself used 2 do it 4 friends/family but when its done i'm still itching 2 do more hook ups so i decided 2 do this now well i dont really advertise since i dont want alot of ppl wanting me 2 do installs when i already have my reg job but i kinda advertise in a way by putting in my sig on a local forum that i do installs ,gotten quite a few PMs so far but this is actually the 1st job from it . Another guy has been asking me 2 redo his stuff so maybe i will get that small job too ..... |

Isn't that a bad spot? Seems like the heat would endanger the integrity of the wires insulation, but thats just me. Nice job though. |
