The picture is fantastic! High definition Viera screen with 8.6 billiion colours. No blotchy dark scenes.
Left and right speakers are on the floor either side of the cabinet under the TV. Unfortunately the wooden floor was already there when I moved in but the sound is surprisingly good -- a lot better acoustics' than my old house. I intend to upgrade the front speakers as at the moment they're not even on spikes!
You should look into getting some front tower speakers and a bigger subwoofer.
Also maybe a better match for your speakers would be the new Panasonic all digital 7.1 receiver xr-55. Its around $230 from jr.com. Everyone who has tried it loves it and it has been beating a lot of more expensive setups too.
I am going to buy that for my mother for her stereo.
