New member Username: Brandon_bPost Number: 6 Registered: May-05 | Hey here is my finished (for now) setup in my apartment. This setup is going to be it for awhile. It actually sounds damn good in my apartment considering the sat/sub format and my extra tight budget for putting it together. You'd be hard pressed to find satellite speakers that sound as good as these Klipsches. The front left and right had to sit in the cabinet because they have to be hidden when not in use. Of course that will change when B&W 602s3 s are swapped out ;) -Nad T751 reciever -Klipsch Quintet front, center, and rear sats. -Sony plant stand modified to be very tight and musical sub (go figure a sony sub) -Sony 36" WEGA -Sony DVD player http://www.MyOnlineImages.com/Members/BrandonBedient/images/closed.jpg http://www.MyOnlineImages.com/Members/BrandonBedient/images/openfar.JPG http://www.MyOnlineImages.com/Members/BrandonBedient/images/openclose.JPG http://www.MyOnlineImages.com/Members/BrandonBedient/images/surrounds.jpg |

I see from the photos that 'she' has plenty of 'her' belongings sitting all over the place, but she wont allow your input?? So the "BOSS" doesnt like HiFi, ay??? I guess if the 'boss' is happy, then that's all that matters, right? If I were you, I would make that "MY" HT room, and let her decorate around the speakers and components after I was finished doing what was necessary. |

You sound like a guy that really hates women. Maybe your mom never said anything when stepdad was abusing you. Perhaps you got locked in your room when she had "company." Whatever it is man you should seek therapy and break the cycle. Remember every woman isn't your mom and maybe someday after you get some of your issues worked out you'll find a loving woman. Of course with those ugly as sin Cerwin Vegas sitting in your home theater you might not want to take her to your place right away. Brandon |

The TV Juuuuuuust fit in it. I actually hat to put the TV in it before I put the top on so it adds to the custom look of the cabinet. Brandon |

Why not mount them on the walls where they'd at least still be out of the way and you could put them further apart so you could have a wider and probably better imaged soundstage? |
Gold Member Username: Paul_ohstbucksPost Number: 2130 Registered: Jan-05 | Oknessa, You're right, putting speakers inside a cabinet is the wrong way to go. The 'boss' probably doesnt let him turn it up anyway, so it probably doesnt matter though. Being in an apartment, you'll want to be courteous to your neighbors anyway so the smaller speakers are a good idea. Once you get a house though, you'll definitely want to make a few speaker changes. HEh....Im just pulling your chain Brandon. Dont take it personal. I cant help it that the the WAF guys crack me up. You have a nice place there, now if only you would bring those speakers out of hiding. |

Brandon, I must apologise for Paul's behaviour, he was rude towards me when I first cam to this forums, and I have been so insulted by him, well the gloves are off now Paul, watch it because some of us like to put you down like a bad habit...... Brandon, as for your home cinema set-up it's comfortable, and there is always room for special modifications, anything is possible..... I don't think you mean your sorry Paul, sorry I just don't believe a word your saying.... Ashley |

Bronze Member Username: Brandon_bPost Number: 12 Registered: May-05 | oknessaD I thought it would sound bad when I first did it but it actually sounds pretty good.(in spite of not because of the cabinet) Obviously it would sound better with a better soundstage if I took them out and put the L and R speaker on stands but trust me if it sounded honkey or boxy in that cabinet I wouldn't put them there. Paul is right too. Since I live in an apartment I really can't play it very loud so that helps too. but this really is a great apartment setup. Yup Ashley that's a rocking chair. We got it when my wife was pregnant and we've been looking for a replacement ever since. It's funny to see a 28 year old woman hangin out in a rocking chair like Grandma Hazel. |
