Well, after many months of research, including lots of opinions and advice from folks here, I've decided on the following set up. Once I've received and set up all the gear, I'll post pics. Any thoughts are welcome. - Display: Panasonic TH-50PHD7UY plasma monitor - A/V Receiver: Denon AVR-4806 - DVD player: Denon DV-3910 - Speakers, Fronts/Center: B&W FPM5 - Speakers, Rear: FPM2 - Subwoofer: B&W PV1
Ok, I've purchased the Receiver, DVD player and speakers. For speakers, I went with the B&W FPM4 for the left/right front (the FPM4 have identical performance as the FPM5 - why pay the extra $50 per?), a FPM6 for the center channel (larger drivers), and two FPM2 speakers for the rear. Now I'm just deciding between the aforementioned Panasonic plasma, or the Pioneer PDP-5050HD. The PDP-5050HD has the identical picture quality as the Elite series PRO-1120HD; the main difference being the warranty (2 years vs 1 year), and the ISF calibration feature (the PDP does not have it). My concern with the Panasonic was, with it being the Business series display, there are only limited service centers should something go wrong, and you have to bring it there yourself. Whereas the Pioneer comes with an in-house service warranty.
As for interconnects, I purchased three HDMI Kimber Kables, and will use heavy gauge speaker wire, bare (no connects like banana plugs, spades, etc.).
