Itunes probs please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi, i am trying to import songs from cd to the itunes library. usually it gets the track names automatically but i keep getting an error message reading- 'unable to connect to the cddb server' but my computer is connected to the internet???

please help.....

could a host of different problems.
Does it only happen on particular cd's or is it random?

If it is random, it could be a connection error, and all you do is keep trying. If it is always a certain CD, it could probably be copy protected.

Try using Windows Media Player and check if it will do a track name search for you.

it happens on all cd's yet other times it works???

Try it on the windows Media Player and see if the failure rate is the same.

I have the same problem with iTunes. Toast works fine so I know that it's something to do with iTunes. Did you ever figure out the problem?

I disabled Zone Alarm (my firewall) to get the track names & then enabled the firewall when I was done.
