Ipod Mini Software won't even load!!!!

How do i start the download and while installing do i keep the Ipod plugged in the USB port?! HELP PLEASE I WANT TO GET THIS DONE SO I CAN TAKE IT WITH ME TO THE BEACH ON SUNDAY!!! Thanks

When the CD is in the computer, just click Start>My Computer>And the drive that the CD is in. It will start running the install program.
