Rca lyra 1080 mp3 player won't show in winxp

I switched to winxp from win 2k and when I plug in my lyra 1080 with usb plug, message says new hardware installed and ready. I can't find the icon in my computer or anywhere else. I refresh page and tried
different usb ports. Need some suggestions
