SurabyaKid Unregistered guest | I recently had a bad Ebay experience to share... The auction I bought my Lyra in described the unit as refurbished, sealed in Factory plastic and having a manufacturers warranty. The unit arrived with a sticker indicating that it was refurbished by a company called Sohnen Enterprises and it was they who were providing the warranty....Not RCA. The Seller was uncooperative, so I disputed via PayPal. Paypal decided that the difference was "not significant". All you prospective refurb buyers need to ask the question of who is providing warranty...even if the description seems clear !! The question part of this is who is Sohnen Enterprises? A google search does not yeild much except legal briefings.... there is a Customs Ruling describing thier business at http://rulings.customs.gov/hq/1991/555741.doc which includes a description of parts canibalization of broken units in thier Mexican facility. They apparenty also refurbish microwaves and Siemens telephones. They do not have a functioning website. Who are these guys? The Kid |
