I have USB 2.0 ports so what my question is does the MP3 player come with a USB 2.0 cable? I am not sure if you need certain cables for 2.0 but I want to cover all the basis here. My computer recognizes that I have USB 2.0 but everytime I plug this MP3 player in, it says "this device can perform faster if you plug it into a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port" Might this be the cable? How do you tell if a cable is USB 2.0? Thanks in advance.

I too have this same problem and have called the tech support numerous times and have gotten no resolvement to this issue and have spoken to the higher ups about this as well. I have an address to write to a review board about this and if nothing is done about it, then I am writing to the Better Business Bureau about this as it is advertised as USB 2.0 on their site and on the package and this is obviously a false claim

Hi,
I've had that problem on my computer on several devices... it was not the device itself the problem, but the driver of the usb2 controller.
I resolved the problem installing the good updated driver corresponding to my motherboard. (often found on the cd of the motherboard or downloaded from the manufacturer's web site) (it's better to install recommended drivers instead of windowsXp internal support when you encounter problems)
On my system it affected my printer, my usb2 harddrive, my camera...they all are USB2, but displayed this message: "this device can run faster" this basically means that the hardware usb2 controller failed to establish communication (or driver did not start proprely) so usb1 hardware controller takes the place and at least makes basic communication.

Have a good day.
