Just traded an extensive 'system' of Canon 'L' glass and a 1D body in and went 'lightweight'.
Yep, the new Sony NEX mirrorless line caught my attention.
so far? Amazing results with huge dynamic range and a reasonable selection of glass...
The 35mm f1.8 'normal' lens is amazing while the 18-200 lens....NOT the Tamron or the 'LE' version is very flexible and a great vacation walk-around lens.
I'm taking pictures again and enjoying myself. and NOT lugging around 15lb of stuff. I'm down to a single bag with 2 lenses and (generally) no need for flash beyond what comes on-camera....The camera will take great shots to ISO 3200 and higher. The built-in Pano mode and HDR / DRO modes get the shot under harsh or contrasty conditions.
A vote YES.

The romance was shorted lived.
Sony glasss was IFFY at best and Real Expensive at worst, and still not necessarily tops. A few exceptions like th 90mm Macro ARE top performers and $$$ to boot.

What eventually got to me was poor autofocus, inability to detail focus and poor or simply unaffordable glass. Even the 35mm f1.8 'normal' lens was flawed. And this you'd figure that
for the asking price of 450$, they could get right. Sorry.

Me? I went back to a full-Frame Mirrorless and NOT the Sony. My first moving object shots were something I could never duplicate with the Sony in 5 years of experimentation.

This is my LAST camera and certainly insanely capable. The new Nikon Z6 / Z7 cameras come in fairly high up the line so I'd expect a Z4 or Z5 prices more modestly for ambitious
amateurs while they make eventually go to a Z8 or Z9 for no-compromise pro shooters.
