Does anyone do any wide format printing? I have quite a keen interest in it and like to go to studios and use their wide format printers to print my images.

I'll stitch photos together in photoshop and make very wide panos.
For printing a proof, I'll resize the canvas to 8 1/2x 11 and resize the picture to fit the long dimension. The width at that point will be only 3 or 4 inches, depending on final crop.
I'll resize everything to fit larger canvas and let the local big box people work it out. Good results.

I'd like to afford one of those 'paper on a roll' printers' for doing larger panos.

Hi there

I have an Epson 24 " 7600 large format printer which is still going well. Purchased 6 years ago. You can buy on ebay now for about $1000.

I send all my printing needs to a lab. There is too much expense involved when printing your own.

Just had a couple 20"x60" panos printed at the local Costco.
20$ each......and perfect results.
Of course, the files were 45meg and had been slightly sharpened and color corrected. I also attached the printer profile from Dry Creek website who takes care of Costco printer profiles.
Results are PERFECT and match what I saw on my monitor.

Now framing? That's another awful story.....and $$$$$
