I am desperate to find a way to transfer my video and nothing will work. There are no new 'updated' JVC drivers. The main points are below:
Drivers not detected - using VISTA!!
-jvc gr-dv 4000u
-no firewire outlet on camera!
-supervideo port on camera (but not on cpu)
-USB port on camera and DV port
-Running Windows Vista
-Cannot transfer/capture the video from the dv tapes to the computer
-Does not recognize the JVC driver and cannot find an updated driver to work with Windows Vista.
Ready to pull my hair out! Can anyone help??

Buy a DVD recorder with a Firewire aka DV aka i.Link aka IEEE1394 port from Toshiba, Sony, Samsung, JVC, etc.
Very easy to transfer the video straight to DVD disc.
