I have both a Sony TRV65 Hi8 camcorder, and a Sony Trv103 D8 camcorder. I prefer to use the Hi8 in my underwater housing while scuba diving because the Hi8 does better in underwater low light conditions.
I recently shot a couple of Hi8 tapes while diving. They play back on the TRV65 just fine. But, when I play them back on the TRV103, they exhibit terrible noise and a continuous drop-out style "tearing" in the image, roughly 1/3 and 2/3rds of the way down the frame from the top.
I've cleaned the heads on both machines. Any ideas?
