Resident experts, please comment on this picture. I forgot what the setting was to me the pic is just not sharp at tall.

I am a point and shoot guy but I have taken pic on a friend's Canon 300D and my own Sanyo Xacti C4 that are much much sharper than this.

Is this my fault or some equipment malfunction?

Thanks for your help.

Too small to make a determination.

What lens were you using? What AF mode? What mode was the camera on...P, M, A, S???

What are your in-camera settings?

Too many variables.

What is the resolution you are using in-camera?

What lens are you using? If you are using the kit lens, you may have reached the limitation of sharpness at such an aperture. The kit lens sharpness is really good at f/8 through f/16. You wrote fStop at f/25 and lens aperture at 4.0???

Try another shot at Programmed Mode. Increase the resolution in camera at the maximum. There really is no reason to go small.

Resolution was 3,008x2000. large.
Kit lens was used.

Will play with programmed mode for a while.

Off topic slighty but if I want to protect the lens, what would you recommend as filters?

It is a personal preference and some feel the need to defend it as necessity. With various arguments as to the kind of protection it really provides.

I find it more of a nuisance specially if I want to use a polarizer. Remove, re-attach, etc.
