Best camera for around $400?

Any suggestions on a good camera in my price range? Thanks for any help!

My gf has I believe a Sony dsc-p8? She wants the pictures to be able to be taken more quickly than the Sony does and also better zoom which I think the Sony has a 3x zoom. Will these Casios fit that bill or am I looking out of my price range for what she wants?
