Sony trv330. Shots of trains at night in the yard, through bridges, etc. The details of wheels, etc., on the LCD are excellent, but output to PC by firewire or to TV by s-video, is poor, very contrasty, details lost. Using Premiere 6.0, but can't recover details. Export to DVD does not recover details. I understand the camcorder output is compressed. Would a DV tapedeck output be uncompressed to PC?
I have found the same problem. I recently bought a sony handycam dcr-hc35e and when transfering the video from the mini dv to the pc the quality isnt even as good as a crappy web cam! I think I'm going to take it back and get one of the more expensive hard disc camcorders...
