Mark Phillips | I'm an experienced/high-end amateur videographer and want to move into a mini-DV format. I've narrowed my search to the Sony 900 and the Panasonic 951. If any of you have some experience with either or informed thoughts re the relative value of each, I'd greatly appreciate it. My e-mail address is markpsf@earthlink.net Thanks. Mark |
Photog | I've shot with mini-dv (as supplemental gear) on a few jobs. Go with the Sony, if for no other reason than S-E-R-V-I-C-E. Otherwise, in the control room, the Sony's spec'd better than the Panasonics. In the field and in the studio, the Sony's had fewer impedence problems with various microphones. And, last time I checked, Sony's CCD's have more capacity, which means more information, which means more video. |
