I also have the PV-GS19 miniDV. In trying to put the video i recorded on the miniDV tape onto my PC (for editing), i connected the camera and PC with a normal USB and installed the driver that the instruction booklet reccomended. My computer will say "Hardware found: JVC" and things like that, but it won't actually recognize any video. Does anyone have the same problem? Or the solution?
This model has a firewire port. I'll definitely recommend using firewire rather than USB to transfer video to your PC. If necessary, you can cheaply buy a card to equip your PC with firewire.
