That's a great site, bookmark it; they have a ton of great articles there. I've just started using RAW myself as a recent DSLR convert & love it. I'm able to get the image much closer to how I want it before even opening up PS. The only downside is file size and the extra time to process--though I except that to reduce as I get more familiar with the process & the tools.

If you're going to play with RAW files, be sure to check out Pixmantec's RawShooter.

Congratulations. Nice starting kit. Now go out and find out just how small that 512 card is! :-)

Not a bad deal. I would however, get the sb-800 speedlight.

Nikon:

70-200 VR w/2x teleconverter
80-200 w/2x teleconverter

The SB-800 has better power.

As far as the lenses go, you really should determine first the type of shooting that you will be doing. Don't worry about tele converters just yet.

A great lens to start would be the 70-200 f/2.8 AF-S VR. This is a very heavy lens so take that into consideration. You don't want to be lugging it around your neck.

i like to do a lot of nature shooting...

Then go with the 70-200 VR.
