Got $180K in trade for the old one plus the extra $130K we had to pay for the new one. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow. I know nobody cares about this kind of sh!t, but I don't care if you do or not. I just want to let people know how much it takes to make money around here. |

It didn't have that many hours on it. I think it's because the new one has the Axial Flow system. Not as much grain falls through the cracks and onto the ground. The old one had a problem with that. @Eric, You would rather have a Ferrari than a combine? $300K isn't that much considering it pays for itself ten fold in only a couple years. Then when you sell it you still get at least half of what it was worth brand new and spend the rest on a newer one. I'll get pics tomorrow. My dad already stowed it away in the shed so I need to get some pictures of it while it's still clean. It probably won't move until next harvest anyways. |

She looks like a beast with all the creature comforts to boot. Looks like business is good on your farm. Nice! |

We usually do half corn and half beans, but since beans was higher demand we planted more of it. At $6 a bushel for beans and $3 a bushel for corn, we had to do it. Plus the biggest grain truck we have can hold almost 500 bushels of beans. Add that by how many truck loads we take in in a day, (maybe 12) for about two weeks per harvest. We have a 10K bushel bin full of corn that's going toward a new SUV for my mom. My dad loves GMC so I think we're going with the new Terrain. |
