Sunday, November 09, 2008 - 18:32 GMT I bought this laptop off a friend for $75 bucks. Has a broken screen but is very easy to use an external monitor so theres no problem in that since I could care less. The problem is that windows is corrupt without a certain file. Since the laptop has windows xp media and I only have a windows xp pro disc. I can't fix it. The laptop doesn't recognize the windows xp disc when booting up and keeps going to the part where it says the file is corrupt etc etc. So, how can I fix this, I want to clean the whole pc out with a fresh reboot.

Sunday, November 09, 2008 - 19:06 GMT I tried that nick. I pressed "delete" not backspace and it takes me no where. The computer will just restart if I press any keys.

Sunday, November 09, 2008 - 21:38 GMT BOIS entry key is usually F2.... only a few are DEL Once your in bios setup change the boot order to have the CD drive before the hard drive Next time you restart you should get "Press any key to boot from CD", do it Then you're in windows setup and you can delete the hard drive partition, re-create it and format from within win xp setup.
