Monday, April 21, 2008 - 15:01 GMT Today I'm taking the Yukon to get worked on. It'll be gone for about a month. If you didn't know, its getting air bags. I know how many of you hate it, but this is my style. If I had a 4wd I would definitely lift it, but its a 2wd, so air bags it is.

Monday, April 21, 2008 - 16:03 GMT Yeah I want the stickers made already. Also, I tore out the whole system already. All I have is a headunit, 1 set of memphis msync6 components, and 2 batteries and the alternator, plus wiring. I'm thinking about some rainbow components 3 way and a pretty decent sub stage. I don't even want to think about the system right now after the air bags haha.

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - 01:16 GMT How durable are the bags? Meaning are you always riding around on inflated bags or is there a locking mechanism? I would hate to think of riding down the freeway and bang! One bag defects and you have a catastrophe. Just curious.

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - 01:43 GMT they're pretty durable. but of course not as safe as a stock suspension (springs). But you gotta take the risks if your going to do this. I barely drive on the freeway paul so no big worries. I'll be safe if the bags don't rub against anything and are far from heat such as exhaust pipes.

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - 02:22 GMT They are safe paul i dont know about aftermarket but they are still limited to travel. Some stock vehicle's have air bags too, alot of the time it is used for towing to help level it out, plus it gives you a smoother ride. They will go bad over time but i have never heard about them just blowing out fast. Usually stock ones will just not hold air and slowly deflate so the car will sag.

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - 02:28 GMT okay wtf kind of air bags are you guys talking about? when someone says air bags to me, i think of air bags that shoot out during a crash for safety purposes, but based on the context of this conversation i don't think that is whats being discussed.
