I have a FI Q with a stock head unit and looking for something that will complement the Q nicely any help will be great ![]() |

Silver Member Username: Noob101Taylorsville, Utah USA Post Number: 111 Registered: Jul-07 | What would you recommend with an amp with max price of $370? also I've been told you need to do a "big 3" if you want to run anything over 1200-1300 W and since I'm running my FI at 1200 would i need to do a big 3 before i start considering buying component speakers? |

Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodia Post Number: 3558 Registered: Sep-04 | diamond audio hex - good reviews, especially from brad, a man who chooses his system wisely. memphis 15msync6 comps - I have them. Nice detail, good punchy midbass. and they don't need a lot of power to get loud. ednine.2 100rms x 2 @4ohms if you go with the memphis. I recommend the ednine.2x if you go with the diamond hex's. Or a jl 300/2. Would power any set of comps nicely. |

Silver Member Username: Noob101Taylorsville, Utah USA Post Number: 115 Registered: Jul-07 | How about this? CDT Audio EF-61FG http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3341 HIFONICS ZXi6006 ZEUS could be a different amp though if suggested. |

Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 1400 Registered: Nov-06 | Berny, how much were the Memphis comps? |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodia Post Number: 3562 Registered: Sep-04 | bought mines for 280 at a shop bc I like warranty on the components. you can get them on woofersetc for like 210 shipped. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 4995 Registered: Jul-06 | Those components are good, but NOT that amp. You can get a good qualtiy amp for those for well under $370 |
Silver Member Username: Noob101Taylorsville, Utah USA Post Number: 116 Registered: Jul-07 | "Berny, how much were the Memphis comps?" I found them for $175 at sonic electronix |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodia Post Number: 3563 Registered: Sep-04 | thats a good deal. and sonic should have lower shipping prices. |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 1402 Registered: Nov-06 | Cool, thanks. My a/d/s 245ix are giving me lots of cone noise and they just don't have the mid-bass I want. How are yours installed? Enclosure volume? |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodia Post Number: 3564 Registered: Sep-04 | I fiberglassed my doors. redoing them. But I heard them in a proper install at the shop I go to. Lets just say, is you can install these right, they will be one bad as s set of comps. very nice sq and bright. their not titanium tweets, their aluminum. You can also get silk tweets if you wish I think. I like them a lot more than my cdt hd/m6 comps. |
Gold Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Resonant Eng... Post Number: 1513 Registered: Feb-05 | I pick up my mmats 651 for 200 bucks. Those comp Berny is talking about are really nice. I hear them. |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 1404 Registered: Nov-06 | Hmm. I'm just wondering, because I have built boxes for the a/d/s, but they are 5 1/4". I'd like to reuse these boxes, since I can't get anything bigger without some door modifications that I don't want to do. I think they are 4.5x8x8, externally. Stuffed with polyfill. You guys think that would work? |
Silver Member Username: Noob101Taylorsville, Utah USA Post Number: 118 Registered: Jul-07 | any suggestions on an amp that can do around 140W RMS for about 170 bucks? |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 1405 Registered: Nov-06 | BTW, it's .073 of a cubic foot per woofer. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodia Post Number: 3565 Registered: Sep-04 | WOW, just wow. came back from hearing my memphis comps. I just love them more and more. They aren't even sealed up. I gotta close up the stock speaker hole and then it'll be pretty sealed up. Probaly do that later and lets see how big of a difference it'll make. |
Silver Member Username: Noob101Taylorsville, Utah USA Post Number: 119 Registered: Jul-07 | I was looking at the Memphis comps a second ago and it says their rated at 50W RMS Is that right? If so could i buy a Kicker ZX100.2 if it's 2 ohm or Kicker ZX200.2 if it's 4?? (it doesn't say what ohm it runs at on sonic...) |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodia Post Number: 3566 Registered: Sep-04 | its 4ohms. they can run on 100rms safely. A refurb ednine.2 would do them nicely. |
Silver Member Username: Noob101Taylorsville, Utah USA Post Number: 120 Registered: Jul-07 | I've looked all over and i can't seem to find a ednine.2 for sale at the moment the only one i found the seller hasn't responede to anyone in over 3 weeks... Any other suggestion on an amp to power the Memphis? |
