i havn't gotten any viruses yet...i even dled an antivirus from torrents lol....i can send u perfect antivirus first so u can install it and know for sure u arent dlin any viruses
i have nod32 btw if u want jus lemme kno its about 18mb
I use Norton and have been pretty pleased with it. I was just curious as to how a torrent site compares to a Limewire or Kazaa. Those are so flooded with crap anymore.
yes limewire and kazaa and napter and all other stuff is crap....i've even heard bearshare carries a lot of crap...but i havn't used bearshare so i am not sure
I've been using torrents for a while and so far none have been effected with any viruses
BTW you have an antivirus so even if u dl something that has a virus it should terminate the dl. I use torrentspy and piratebay and they work perfectly fine (except they have lots of advertisements...not popups tho)
Give it another try..you might like it
Also what connection do you have? its not worth it if you are on dialup or even dsl
Dial up is way yesterday. I had cable, loved it. I now use dsl. I'm not disappointed with dsl, yet. I'm waiting for fios to come in my area. We'll see.
see with torrents your best bet is to get the ones w/ the most seeds. the more people that have it, the less likely it is to be corrupted with something. i've d/l'd hundreds of torrents w/o any problems to date
I have had limewire, had lots of problems with viruses. No problems with virus on utorrents , also, it would take me 8-10hours to load movies on limewire and with utorrent its 45minutes to 2hours depending on the seeds. Also, with limewire, if you want to download a whole album, you have to find each song on it and download them seperately, with torrents, you can often find the whole album and download it in about 30 minutes or so...once again, depending on the number of seeds.
btw,I didn't realize it at the time, but I downloaded the movie "Night at the Museum" in 45 minutes, and watched it before it was out on DVD
