So this is a question for those who know their material. I want to be able to play games to their full potential. Or most of it atleast. Amd X2 or intel core 2 duo? GFX will be a Nvidia 7950 gx2. 1gb of Ram HD? What kind for fast data retreival? Trying to spend around 1000-1500 so if anyone can help that would be good. I don't need a 5000 dollar system, but I would like to keep it affordable and at the same time to play the latest games with ease. |

Reason was because the GT's are a little less expensive than the gx2 and that they perform almost as well so this should satisfy my brother in law for the time being. Because of this I decided to upgrade the ram to 2gb and it also leaves me the option to upgrade to a better motherboard and cpu. HD space isn't as important for how since theres always the option to add more. I think I was able to figure this out myself after looking around. But the only question still unanswered is amd x2 or intel core 2 duo? Which one will be better for the long run? |

But yeah I already decided to go with the intel core 2 duo E6600 and a Asus P5B motherboard. Also I can get the memory a little cheaper and HD was a good price from what you showed me. Thanks for the links, I'm sure to use them. |

Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodian Post Number: 1309 Registered: Sep-04 | I'm buying the cpu and motherboard at Frys so I can get the two year warranty. And if I want I can take the board and cpu back and get a newer board and cpu. Although the price of that cpu and board should be hella cheap but Imma see whats up. Right now the price is about 1200 with a monitor. All I need left is a case and powersupply. |
